Music and its significance to the comic
Arial versus Lotus, I am proud to say, owes its direct inspiration to the song Aerial vs Lotus by Limblifter. From the start music played an important role in helping me understand the story, the atmosphere and the characters. I don't think that everyone will have the same reaction to the music, but I listed certain songs that had an impact on the conception or understanding of both the characters and the story.
The Tracks
Limblifter - Aerial versus Lotus [The Inspiration and Title Proper]
Tea Party - Angels [Having no influence on the story itself but has a haunting appeal]
AFI - Days of the Phoenix [Arial's a tough cookie]
Coldplay - Yellow [Jophiel is not]
AFI - Silver and Cold [Lotus' theme]
Tarkan - Simarik [This belongs to Lotus, and it certainly earned it's subtitle ''Kiss Kiss'']
Matthew Good Band - Strange Days [Azrael's opinion about his job]
Ujang Suryana - Kang Mandor [Innocence's theme, and even though his face is Billy Idol, his soul is all haunting sweetness]
OLP - Naveed [Lucifer is a lot nicer when conveyed musically]
The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony [As are the kami]
Sawt El Atlas - Ne Me Jugez Pas(remix) [''Don't judge me'' Halim's song-and-dance] very groovy stuff
Cheb Tarik - L'histoire [The kami's song-and-dance, and it is a nice one]
Rachid Taha - Hey Anta! [Azrael, being uplifting]
Fatboy Slim - Kalifornia [believe me when I say that this is the funniest all-cast, all-dance song...evAR]
Morricone - Gabriel's Oboe [Yes Gabriel really does have a ringtone, and all the angels have learned to be very afraid when they hear this sweet little ditty]
Lamb - Gabriel [for a more serious look at the power of a really stupid but well-meaning angel]
Oojami - Fantasy [this is a mood piece, good for dark-skinned chara like Greed, Halim, Nightfall and Azrael]
more will be added as the story progresses.
